Privacy Policy
Last updated 1 May 2026. PrediLive is operated by Jason Clifford Activations Pty Ltd (ABN 56 421 933 778), Level 5, 461 Bourke Street, Melbourne VIC 3000 ("PrediLive", "we", "us"). This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through the PrediLive activation at Super Netball Grand Final, the booth at John Cain Arena, this website, and our newsletter.
We comply with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and, where the visitor is located in the EU/EEA or the UK, with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). If you only ever read one section, read "Your rights" — it explains how to access, correct or delete any data we hold about you.
1. Scope
This policy covers personal information collected when you (a) play the free predictions game at the PrediLive booth, (b) browse pages on jasonclifford.com, (c) submit any form on this site (contact, newsletter, booking enquiry), (d) interact with our authorised event staff on match day, or (e) claim a leaderboard prize. It does not cover third-party websites we link to — including operator pages on the partners list — which have their own privacy policies.
2. What we collect
- Booth play data: the player nickname you choose, the predictions you place, the points you earn, your leaderboard rank, and timestamps for each interaction.
- Contact details: the email address you optionally provide when subscribing to our newsletter, claiming a physical prize, or asking a question through the contact form.
- Prize-fulfilment details: a shipping address only when a physical prize cannot be collected on-site. Provided voluntarily by the winner and deleted once dispatched.
- Website technical data: standard server logs (IP address, browser user-agent, referrer URL, request timestamp), plus anonymised page-view metrics. Used for security monitoring and aggregate analytics only.
- Cookies and similar storage: consent state, language preference, and aggregate analytics identifiers. See our Cookies Policy for the full list.
- Imagery from event days: wide-angle photos and video of the booth, taken in public areas of the John Cain Arena Fan Zone. Signage at the booth notifies visitors that recording is taking place. We will blur or remove any individual on request.
3. What we deliberately do not collect
PrediLive does not collect, store, or process payment card numbers, banking details, government identification numbers, biometric data, racial or ethnic data, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, political opinions, health information, or any data on minors under 18. The activation is free-to-play and 18+. We do not buy personal data from data brokers, and we do not enrich your record with third-party sources.
4. Lawful basis for processing
Where the GDPR applies, our lawful bases are: (a) contract — to run the prediction game and deliver any prize you have won; (b) legitimate interests — to keep the website secure, prevent fraud against the leaderboard, and improve future activations through aggregate analytics; (c) consent — for newsletter subscriptions and non-essential cookies (you can withdraw at any time); (d) legal obligation — to retain limited records where Australian law requires it (for example, ABN-related records of sponsor payments).
5. How we use your information
- Run the live leaderboard, daily rankings, and on-site prize hand-out.
- Verify prize entitlement and arrange dispatch of physical prizes.
- Respond to enquiries submitted through the website or by phone.
- Send newsletters when you have opted in (event drops, schedule, AR feature previews). Each email contains a one-click unsubscribe.
- Improve the booth, the AR overlay and the website by reviewing anonymised aggregate gameplay patterns (e.g., which prediction categories are most popular).
- Maintain the integrity of the leaderboard — flag and remove duplicate or abusive nicknames, investigate suspected manipulation.
- Comply with legal obligations under Australian law.
6. Who has access
Inside PrediLive, access to personal information is limited to staff who need it to do their role: the booth supervisor (gameplay data on event day), the prize-fulfilment lead (shipping addresses), the technical lead (server logs for security investigations), and the marketing lead (newsletter list). All staff sign confidentiality clauses as part of their contract.
We share personal information with the following third-party processors strictly for the purposes listed:
- Hosting provider (Australian-based) — hosts this website and the booth software.
- Newsletter platform (transactional email provider, EU-based) — sends our newsletter only to subscribers who opted in.
- Analytics provider — receives anonymised, aggregated page-view counts. No individual identifiers are passed.
- Courier — receives a shipping address only when dispatching a physical prize.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share email addresses with third parties for marketing. We do not allow any of our processors to use your data for their own marketing or training of third-party AI models.
7. Storage, retention and deletion
Personal information is stored on servers physically located in Australia. Backups are encrypted at rest. Retention windows are:
- Player nickname and gameplay events — 30 days after the relevant event, for prize verification.
- Leaderboard final standings (nickname only, no email) — kept indefinitely in an archive for press and sponsor reporting; you can request removal at any time.
- Prize-fulfilment shipping addresses — deleted within 14 days of confirmed delivery.
- Newsletter email — kept until you unsubscribe or we close the list.
- Contact-form enquiries — kept for 24 months for follow-up, then deleted.
- Server logs — kept for 90 days for security and abuse investigation.
8. Data security
We protect personal information with industry-standard controls: TLS 1.2+ on all web traffic, encrypted backups, role-based access on internal systems, two-factor authentication for staff accounts, and regular review of who has access to what. On event days, the booth tablets are wiped at the end of the shift; nothing on the tablets is retained locally overnight. We test our key systems for vulnerabilities at least once a year before the start of each Super Netball season.
No online system is one-hundred-percent secure. If we ever experience a breach involving personal information, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) within the timeframes required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
9. International transfers
The newsletter platform is hosted in the European Union under GDPR-compliant safeguards. Newsletter subscribers' email addresses are therefore transferred to the EU; the legal basis for the transfer is the Standard Contractual Clauses adopted by the European Commission. All other personal information remains on Australian infrastructure.
10. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of any inaccurate or out-of-date information.
- Request deletion of your information ("right to be forgotten"), subject to any legal retention obligations.
- Withdraw consent for the newsletter at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link or emailing us.
- Object to processing carried out on the basis of legitimate interests.
- Request a portable copy of your data in a machine-readable format.
- Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au) or, if you are in the EU/EEA, with your local supervisory authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@jasonclifford.com. We will respond within 30 days. We may ask you to verify your identity before releasing or deleting data, to make sure we are talking to the right person.
11. Children
PrediLive is an 18+ activation. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have collected data from a minor, we will delete it without delay. Parents or guardians who suspect their child has submitted information through this site can contact us directly.
12. Automated decision-making and profiling
We do not use automated decision-making or profiling to evaluate individuals. The leaderboard ranking is a simple arithmetic sum of prediction points and applies the same rule to every participant.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time — for example, when we introduce a new feature, when retention rules change, or when applicable law changes. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any material change. Significant changes will be highlighted in the cookie banner for at least 30 days. Continued use of the activation or the website after a change indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
