Cookies Policy

This Cookies Policy explains what cookies and similar storage technologies we use on jasonclifford.com (the "Site"), why we use them, how long they last, and how you can control them. It works alongside our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. Last updated 1 May 2026.

By using the Site, you consent to the placement of essential cookies. Non-essential cookies (analytics, preferences) are only placed if you accept them in the consent banner shown on your first visit.

1. What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device through your browser. Cookies allow the site to remember information about your visit — for example, what consent you have given, what page you came from, or what language you have selected. Cookies cannot run programs on your device, cannot read other files, and cannot deliver viruses on their own. Modern browsers give you fine-grained control over which cookies are accepted.

We also use other browser storage in a similar way to cookies, including LocalStorage (to remember your cookie-banner answer and your dark-mode preference) and SessionStorage (which is cleared when you close the tab). For brevity, this policy refers to all of them as "cookies".

2. Categories of cookies we use

Cookies on this Site fall into four categories. The consent banner shown on your first visit lets you accept or reject every non-essential category.

2.1 Strictly essential

These cookies are required for the Site to work and cannot be switched off. They include the consent state itself (so we know whether to show the banner again), your nav-menu state on mobile, and basic security cookies that help us spot abusive traffic. They never contain personal information that could identify you.

2.2 Preferences

Preference cookies remember choices you make to give you a smoother return visit — for example, the language version you have selected. They do not track activity outside the Site.

2.3 Analytics

Analytics cookies record anonymous aggregated counts of page views and event interactions so we can understand which parts of the Site fans find useful. The data is reported in aggregate only and is not linked to your identity. We only place analytics cookies if you accept them.

2.4 Marketing

PrediLive does not place marketing or advertising cookies directly. We do not run retargeting or behavioural advertising. The partners page links out to third-party operator websites; if you click one of those links, the destination operator may place its own marketing cookies governed by its own policy.

The table below describes the specific cookies and storage entries this Site may set. We may add or remove entries when we change features; the "Last updated" date reflects the most recent change.

  • predilive_consent — Essential. Stores your accept/reject choice from the consent banner. LocalStorage. Persists until you clear it.
  • predilive_nav — Essential. Tracks whether the mobile burger menu is open during navigation. SessionStorage. Cleared when you close the tab.
  • predilive_session — Essential. Anti-abuse token for form submissions. First-party cookie. Expires after 1 hour.
  • predilive_pref_motion — Preference. Remembers any "reduce motion" preference you set. LocalStorage. Persists until cleared.
  • _pa — Analytics. Anonymous page-view counter set by our analytics provider. First-party cookie. Expires after 13 months.
  • _paev — Analytics. Anonymous event-counter (button click aggregates). First-party cookie. Expires after 13 months.

No cookies on this Site capture your name, email address, banking information, IP address, or any other directly identifying data without your explicit consent.

4. First-party vs third-party cookies

All cookies above are first-party — they are set by jasonclifford.com itself. The Site embeds Google Fonts (the Outfit and Sora typefaces) which causes a network request to fonts.googleapis.com on first paint; that request does not set any cookies. The partners page contains external links; when you click one and land on an operator website, that operator's third-party cookies are governed by its own policy and are outside our control.

5. Managing and withdrawing consent

You can manage your consent at any time:

  • Reset the banner: clear the predilive_consent entry in your browser's storage; the banner will reappear on your next visit.
  • Block cookies before they are set: most browsers let you block cookies entirely or by category. Blocking essential cookies will break the Site; blocking analytics will not affect the experience.
  • Clear existing cookies: through your browser's privacy or history settings. You can also use Incognito / Private mode, which discards cookies when the window is closed.
  • Withdraw consent for non-essential categories: email hello@jasonclifford.com and we will confirm which entries to remove.

6. Do Not Track

Our Site does not currently respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals because there is no industry consensus on what response is expected. We rely instead on the consent banner, which lets you make an explicit choice for each non-essential cookie category.

7. Children

PrediLive is an 18+ activation and the Site is not directed at children. We do not knowingly place cookies on devices belonging to anyone under 18. Parents who suspect cookies have been placed on a minor's device through this Site can email us and we will provide instructions to clear them.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookies Policy when we add new features, when retention rules change, or when a third-party tool is replaced. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any material change. If a change introduces a new non-essential cookie category, the consent banner will reappear so you can renew your choice.
